The Eagles Have Landed!

Jeri Woodhouse from A Taste of the North Fork, Liz Beals, and Beth Linskey landed in Milan this morning.  We ventured forth on the A1 Autostrade to Piecenza.  We commensed a driving tour of the city to the main Piazza del Cavelli viewed the famous bronze horses in the square while lunching at Dado Restoranti.

After that, we took off for Parma taking the leisurely, city tour.  What a beautiful city! The month long Verdi Festival is in full swing with concerts and events every day.  Paola Nano, Carlo Petrini's assistant recommended we dine at Trattoria Ai due Platini, a Slow Food Snail Awarded Osteria, which we are heading to shortly.  We shall report on the food tomorrow (and attempt to upload photos).

The Star Hotel du Parc is picturesquely placed on the back side of a park that connects to the heart of the city.
We plan on visiting the city's Farmer's Market tomorrow morning, bright and early!

Ciao!

Beth, Liz and Jeri
